Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour, heat-treated
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1–2 tsp red gel food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Heat-treat flour: Bake at 350°F for 5 minutes or microwave in 30-sec bursts until 165°F. Cool completely.
- Cream butter & cream cheese together 2–3 minutes until fluffy. Add powdered sugar, beat until light.
- Add cocoa, vanilla, salt, red food coloring. Mix until evenly colored.
- Add cooled flour on low; add milk 1 tbsp at a time for scoopable consistency.
- Fold in chocolate chips. Serve immediately or chill 30 minutes.
Tip: Use gel food coloring (not liquid) for vivid red. Both butter and cream cheese must be fully room temperature.
